Abstract

Fatigue among offshore workers has been implicated as a causal factor in many accidents. Many organizations have implemented Fatigue Risk Management Systems (FRMS) to address the growing concern of fatigue-related incidents. However, the existing literature lacks evidence-based strategies for managing fatigue tailored to the needs of offshore operations. Therefore, we conducted a scoping review of the scientific literature and offshore company FRMS documents to create a list of 29 fatigue management strategies. To refine these strategies, we employed an asynchronous Delphi Consensus Technique involving offshore industry experts, who rated these strategies to establish consensus on the effectiveness, feasibility, and acceptability.
