Hello! I am Yuxin Cai, a Ph.D. student in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where I work in the NeuroErgonomics Lab and conduct research in human factors, wearable data analytics, and human-system interaction.
My current work focuses on building predictive models of human performance and designing human-in-the-loop decision-support systems for safety-critical environments. I am especially interested in multimodal physiological and behavioral data, machine learning for noisy real-world settings, and translating human factors insights into practical tools for domains such as energy operations, fatigue risk management, and intelligent transportation.
I received my B.S. in Mathematics and Physics and B.Eng. in Industrial Engineering from Tsinghua University. Previously, I have worked on human cognitive performance and human–machine interaction in autonomous vehicles.
